What are Self-Adhesives
Our versatile self-adhesives can be found in a wide range of applications in our daily lives, particularly in identification materials, such as labels. But that's not all; they are also used in visual communications, safety guidelines, and signaling.
According to its technical definition, a self-adhesive is a paper or film coated with a fine layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive, protected by a siliconized paper or film. Understand a little better with this illustration that explains the four layers
FACESTOCK
Papers: coated, matte white, thermal, thermal transfer, colored and fluorescent, metallic and laminate, and others.
Film: biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and polyester (PET).
ACRYLIC ADHESIVE - Made from acrylic polymers.
Good resistance to heat and oxidation.
HOT MELT ADHESIVE - Made from rubbers and resins.
Recommended for general applications.
High initial tack due to its more fluid formulation.
SILICONE
Responsible for the release force.
LINER
Papers: glassine, kraft (SCK), coated, and others.
Films: polyester (PET).
